Melbourne Uni Futsal continue strong form

Melbourne University Futsal Club Men’s State League Two team are continuing their fine run of form in both the cup and league competitions.

Last night in the knockout cup they progressed to round 3 defeating State League Championship side Metropolitan 8-4. Goals were scored by E.Park 2, V.Marino, D.Masood, J.Woodcock, A.Zahiri, C.Leong & E.Tasker and Man of the Match went to Anandra Putranto.

In a tight first half the sides traded blows early with Ali Zahiri & Colin Leong scoring for Uni and Tomislav Grgic & Alija Redzepovic netting for Metro to have the scores level. A late penalty went Melbourne Uni’s way which was dispatched by Victor Marino to give his side a slender half time lead.

Melbourne Uni were inspired to cause an upset and they did just that as they had too much firepower for Metro with Eukik Park bagging a brace, which was supported by goals from Danyak Masood, Jasper Woodcock & Ed Tasker saw Uni through with a convincing win, and despite a pair of late goals from Amos Zoyea it wouldn’t be enough as Melbourne Uni progress to the third round of the competition where they face the winner of Altona Knights Futsal Club & Regent City Futsal Club
