Melbourne University Soccer club sends representative teams to University Games each year where students compete against other universities throughout Australia. Tournaments run week long at various places across Australia. Regional competitions run in July (during the semester break) and National competitions run in September (during the mid-semester 2 break).

The Melbourne V Monash Varsity Challenge was established in 2014, drawing on a long rivalry between the two universities.

The University of Melbourne and Monash University are the two top sporting Universities in Victoria, yet they only meet in structured competition at Australian University Sport events. The Varsity Challenge was started as a way of creating another opportunity for the two universities to compete on the field.

The Westfield FFA Cup is a national knockout tournament run by Football Federation Australia in conjunction with every State and Territory Member Federation in the country. Each and every cup tie must be decided on the day, with extra time and penalties to decide results of matches drawn after 90 minutes. To find out more click here.
