CLUB HISTORY

The Melbourne University Soccer Club (MUSC) was founded in 1947 by the University of Melbourne Sports Union. The women’s division of MUSC was established in 1982.

The inaugural season saw MUSC enter a team into Division Two, where we finished in 6th place. The following year saw us finish in 3rd place in Division Three, before returning to Division Two in 1984.

In 2003, the club achieved promotion to State League One for the first time, where we finished in 2nd place. Since then, we have always had a team competing at that level (or higher). In 2006, MUSC finished first in State League One, gaining promotion to Premier League. The State League One title was also won in 2008, along with grand final wins in 2010 and 2015. Titles in State League One Reserves were won in 2008, 2012, 2014 and 2016, State League Two North-West in 2006, and State League Three North in 2016.

MUSC is the largest senior club in Victoria. More recently, the club has expanded from 3 teams in 2011 to 4 in 2012, and then to 5 teams in 2015. In 2018 we fielded 6 teams and our membership sat at around 120 players. We are proud to offer opportunities for women of all ages and abilities to play soccer.
