Team of the Decade: Raimond Spiller

Rai Spiller has been selected in our Men’s 2010-2019 Team of the Decade as a reserve midfielder/forward. Rai has won our 2014 Top Goalscorer, 2014 Best and Fairest and 2017 Coach’s Award.

I vividly remember a pre-season friendly back in 2014 on a 35 degree day against Northern Roosters in Broadmeadows and seeing Rai Spiller nutmeg a defender and leaving him for dead. I do believe this is not the first time that a defender has incurred that treatment from Rai during his football career at MUSC!

Rai is a diminutive, quick, smart player.  He has played a variety positions – out wide as the 7 or 11, played as the sole striker as the 9, or comfortable as the deep lying 10.

Rai has been a loyal servant to MUSC with only a two year stint at Sunbury United where he made quite an impact.

Congratulations on making the MUSC team of the decade, Rai.
